So it turns out the plans were 50cm out, not 10cm, but still...

The architect is very apologetic, the plans are being re-drawn and will be ready tomorrow

I guess I'll have to sign my name hundreds of time again!

In other news, I've spent far too much time on www.oli.co.uk today, I love the 'look book' option - it's fun playing around with different ~~ridiculously expensive~~ possibilities for my SIL's wedding

Currently my favourite on there is this one, now I just need to find shoes, etc to go with it

Well, I think 50cm is actually worse, because that is an error he could have //seen// whereas 10cm could be forgiven.

That is a lovely website. I'm too fat for the clothes in there though

  Apparently he put the garage up to the boundary because he'd mis-read the regulations and thought he //had// to do that to get the roof pitch right... or something. I'm not even trying to understand. Anyway, plans are re-drawn and we're picking them up tonight
  The website's great fun, some of the styles go in larger sizes, keep looking! The dress is gorgeous but there's no way I can spend that much money on my outfit *boooo*

    Oh, well - I guess none of us is perfect, eh? And if he is sorting it for nothing, what can you say? Do you haev to pay permission fees again, or is he footing that bill?
    
    I'm afraid I tend to think that I am overspending if I spend more than fifty quid on an outfit. I am such a scrooge!

      Apparently the fee we pay is for drawing up the documents, we don't pay any more because it wasn't us that made the changes, was his mistake in the first place. There aren't any other fees involved so that's all good
      I know what you mean, I feel guilty even thinking about spending that much money!

        Here, we pay the architect for the drawings, then we pay the planning department for approval or not, as the case may be. I always think it is a bloody cheek to make us pay if the plans are rejected. You have to pay planning every time you put drawings in, but I don't know how much it is if they are modified - whether it is a reduced rate or the full amount again.
        
        I think it is to do with having kids. Pre-kids, I wouldn't bat an eyelid about paying thru the nose for an outfit.

  The irony of it all is that we're including the garage in the planning permission but we won't build it straight away, can't afford the house and the garage in one go!
