Taking things personally

by sminchin @ 2008-05-09 - 14:11:41

It's hard not to take things personally when someone you count as a friend is deep in conversation with someone else in the corridor and actually turns her back on you as you walk past...

... the same conversation which suddenly breaks up when you walk back again

I know the two of them are good friends

I know people around here have social lives which I'm not included in

I know that people often make snap-judgements about me 'cos I actually do my job properly and have 2 kids to look after

It just pisses me off that people can be so blatant about leaving me out!

Ugh, I feel 7 years old again

Oh, gods, I hate it when shit like that happens. When people subtly shift their bodies to exclude, and often they don't even know they are doing it.

I have a group that I am pals with, and they are pals with the other group (I'm not 'in' that group) and - well - need I say more? The school gate is so much fun. I thought I left school, but apparently not.

Stomach churning.

"which I'm not included in" ??

Erm, "in which I am not included" surely?

ROFL

As does mine, sweetie, but I thought it might give you a wee grin :)

It's like school politics! Nightmare! I'm sure it was all just a coincidence.

Probably... there's definitely something strange going on...

It's not nice especially if it's someone you thought was a friend.

Perhaps they were organising a surprise party for you?

Unlikely
but thank you

I hate it when that happens, it isn't very nice.

It isn't nice but I'm feeling far more positive now - it's her business and her loss if she doesn't want to share things with me
Have fun tomorrow!

Will do thanks:)

Awww one thing about it, you're not left out here :D

Could be jealousy, especially if you're doing your job better than she's doing hers. If she wants to be ignorant, then that's her problem. You can rise above it :)

*BIG HUGS*

That's very true :)
She is one that skates through work with the minimum possible effort, she's also one of those who couldn't be arsed coming to my 30th birthday party last year
I'm rising about it, honest!

She's one of those people who's completely oblivious to others around her...
