Does anyone else's kids go completely nuts on Calpol?

I had little choice but to give it to Jamie, he's red-hot with a fever and has been complaining since last night of having "noisy ears"

I've called in sick from work to look after him and have decided to keep Rhys home too 'cos he's not been right all weekend and could do with the rest. So could I, TBH, I have a weird throat at the moment and have been operating at about 60% all weekend.

Shame we now have to put up with Jamie's random Calpol-induced behaviour... right now he's quacking... I'm not sure why

Not so much, but Moff used to complain that the smell and taste made her feel sick.

  He loves it, I have to make sure to keep it well out of reach 'cos he's very good at climbing and would down the bottle given half a chance.
  My Mum tells me Calpol used to send me crazy too so I shouldn't really be surprised

Is it the sugar in the calpol thats set him off? My son was the Calpol Kid and loved the stuff!!

Try the nurofen version of calpol. It's very good too

  I dunno, this is the reduced sugar stuff but he's still pretty loopy. We only use it in the day, if he needs anything at night we have Medised 'cos it helps him sleep. Don't know if we can get the kids' Nurofen here but we used to use it in the UK at times.
  I'm getting there, ta. It's 9am and I haven't even made it to the shower yet!

My youngest child always did, mind you we used to call it the magic medicine because it made them feel so well to act like that lol

  I know they're feeling better 'cos they've been arguing
  I'm okay, ta. Would've gone in if the kids had been okay but this is an ideal opportunity for us all to take it easy for the day.

      I'd like to be sleeping but the kids have made some kind of miraculous recovery from their illnesses and are being far too noisy - I guess calpol has it's good side in relieving their symptoms
      I'm so bored I've even hoovered... maybe I'm more ill than I thought!

I found that the ibuprofen one made Anthony loads better. It had a much better effect on him and his earache than the paracetamol version.
