  • Mud, mud...

    ... glorious mud

The lastest piccies from our plot - lots and lots of mud :)

    24th Apr 424th Apr 624th Apr 8

The pipe's been moved and buried, now they're working on moving earth for the foundations. It's all go!

  • Exhausted

It's been a busy day, just got back home from teacher / parent social event at school, am completely exhausted but just had to pop onto here to tell you all that I'm an Auntie again!

Welcome baby Anna Juliet, born at 0.20am today, weighing 9lbs 2ozs :)

    No piccies yet... damn :))

  • Progress has been made!

My long-suffering readers will remember the whole hoo-ha aaaaages ago about the sewage pipe which runs under our plot

Well, today the digger men turned up to start moving it... we're so thrilled that something is happening at last!

If all goes well (admittedly, that's a large 'if'), we could move in during August :)

  • *duck and cover*

Tomorrow's coming, whether I like it or not

I'll just have to make the best of it

How many days until the end of the year?

  • "I know him sooooooooooooooooooooooo well!"

With all of the craziness of these holidays...

    - several days feeling crap with cold-like symptoms before admitting that it could be the ridiculously-early onset of hayfever, buying some medication and getting better within half an hour of taking it  I'll stick with that then :))

    - a busy Easter weekend entertaining my parents

    - various play-dates and birthday parties for the kids

    - trying hard to get some work done

... I'd completely forgotten about us having tickets to go and see this tonight :>>

Mike's Mum is coming to get the kids mid-afternoon and they're staying with them until Sunday morning *wooooooooooooooooooooooo* :))

I'm off to practise singing the songs from the musical at the top of my voice!
Whaddya mean they'll kick me out if I do that tonight? :P

  • Long weekend

Now it's back to earth with a bump as the house is filthy, the kids are bored and I've got lots of work to do before next week

  • Busy :)

Mum and Dad flew in on Thursday morning and are here 'til Tuesday so I'm not around much at the moment

Hope you're all doing well and that you enjoy your long weekend

  • *sniffle*

Not feeling great at the mo, thanks to my traditional holiday sickness - as soon as life slows down, the germs catch up - but it's so hard to take it easy when there's so much to do!

Dragged myself out of bed this morning to take Rhys to a friend's house, the rest of the day has been occupied with trying to keep Jamie busy and get the flat somewhere near presentable for the arrival of my parents on Thursday.

    Supermarket done

    Washing done

Hoovering done no bloody choice as someone had left 2 or 3 tissues in the wash and it looked like there'd been a snowstorm

    Baking done - yum ;D

    Gateaux de papillonJamie

Thing is, I've rather overdone it and am completely exhausted

Going to spend the evening taking it easy on the sofa, maybe even a hot bath to try and clear my stuffy head

    *bleurgh*

Tomorrow we have other stuff to do... clearing the spare room, taking Jamie to a party... who calls this a 'holiday'?

  • Staking our claim

The guy is coming this week or next to move the sewage pipe which runs under our plot (remember that fiasco?) and he needs to know where the house and garage will be.

Knowing this, and making the most of the gorgeous weather, we went back to the plot yesterday to clear some more undergrowth and stake out the rough layout.

We're both regretting it today as we're covered in bramble scratches - those buggers are mean - and a suprising amount of sunburn for a day in early April.

However, it was great to see everything set out...

The house - you'll need to click to make it bigger and then look carefully for the assorted stakes, tree branches and string!

The garage - not the old stone building behind, that's the neighbours!

We had great fun walking the kids through the layout and explaining where everything will be. Can't wait to get started now!

  • I love holidays :)

    Such a mellow day

Messing around on the plot... kids having fun... making bonfires from brambles... damn good fun

    I love holidays :>>

  • Friday five

    From here

    1. How many candles do you have burning at any given time?
Don't normally have them burning thanks to the little whirlwinds that live in the house. In the Summer we tend to have some citronella ones on the balcony to try and keep the midgies away.

    2. Do you love to get given Easter eggs?
Presents... made of chocolate... what's not to love? I got given 2 today, mucho happy :>>

    3. Wine or vodka?
Both - but maybe not at the same time :P

    4. Do you say dinner, tea or supper when talking about your evening meal?
    Dinner

    5. What is your favourite sandwich?
Brie and bacon on wholemeal please

  • Applaud dangnammit!

    I deserve it! :))
