Hey all  I'm back :)

Has been a really good weekend, far better than I thought it'd be TBH

It's been tough to make friends at Church but spending a weekend away with them all has been amazing... just what I needed

I'm feeling really good right now, totally re-charged :>> Even if I did make a fool of myself crying about my recent problems

I got a cuddle with a gorgeous little girl and the view has been kind of inspirational

And we had to take this one - the obligatory family shot :))

    I feel a blog re-design coming on :>>

  • Duckman to the rescue!

I don't know if any of you have seen this on today's news but I thought it was a lovely story. About time there was some positive news about bankers!

A family of ducks in America have a man to thank for their survival after he saved them from a perilous plunge. A duck built her nest outside Joel Armstrong's office window, and after they hatched she set off for water. But the ducklings weren't too sure about following her down, until Joel went to wait under the roof. As soon as he was in position the ducklings started leaping and after showing off some pretty impressive catching skills, they were all safe. That wasn't the end of the tale though, as the ducks still needed a helping hand finding their way to the nearest river. Thankfully Joel knew where that was too, and was able to guide the new arrivals - and their mum - to the water.

  • Half half-term :)

    Celebrate

Feeling a smidge de-mob happy today 'cos we're sort of on holiday :)

Y'see this term's so short for us (we finish at the end of June - hurrah) that we don't have a full week off. Instead we string together a couple of days with a bank holiday and we get a half half-term :)

So this week's only been 2 teaching days, tomorrow we've got a teacher training morning and then we have Thursday and Friday off :>> To make it even better, Mike's got Thursday off too *wooooo*

Plans so far, a lake-side BBQ on Thursday then off to the Ardeche on Friday to spend the weekend with Mike's parents at their other house Damn, that sounds terribly posh, doesn't it?!

Anyhoo, with that and an invite to a big party next month, I'm feeling a lot brighter today :D

  • Lovely day

Today has been lovely - officially just what I needed after a pretty crappy week

    This morning was Jamie's party

    IMG_6206IMG_6205IMG_6165IMG_6166

Then this afternoon we went to a party at the house of someone from Church. Beautiful weather, friends, family, lots of wine and some swimming in a rather cold pool.

And all with this view *wow*

    IMG_6210IMG_6211

Now we're home for the evening. The kids are in bed, Jamie's presents are wrapped and laid out for the morning and we're watching Eurovision... oh, and I've just booked tickets for this

    So excited!!!

Terrible quality but so funny :))

  • Random wafflings

Am watching 'Police Interceptors' on Five. I want a Scooby. There's a bloke on there who looks like Charlie... I miss him and Jay around here

Saw a 4x4 ram over a flower bed and footpath on the way home, bloody idiot. Was amazing he didn't take down any pedestrians. The noise of his 'undercarriage' hitting the kerb-stones was quite impressive

Have finished the Twilight books, am now on the latest Harlan Coben. It's feeling really flat after my vampire / werewolf high... although Renesmee was a damn stupid name!

Really busy weekend. All I want to do is hide from the rain and get some tickets for Frankie Boyle in Geneva next month :>>

Can't believe my baby boy is 5 on Sunday... or that my bigger baby boy just got level 4s in his reading and Maths SATs :)

    Happy Friday everyone

  • Oh hubby!

I think I've found an idea for my anniversary pressy... :>>

A rare ‘internally flawless’, cushion-shaped blue diamond is expected to fetch between £3.9 and £5.7 million when it is auctioned at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva, Switzerland. The buyer also obtains the honour of naming the rare stone.
The rare stone weighs 7.03 carats and was discovered in 2008 at Petra Diamonds’ Cullinan mine in South Africa. The Gemological Institute of America has graded the stone as fancy vivid blue in colour and internally flawless in clarity, the highest possible grade for a blue diamond.

From here - there are a few other ideas on there too :))

  • Gah

It's been an annoying day to say the least, I'm not going into the details 'cos it'd just annoy me further to re-live it all

    2 highlights:

    * we now have foundations for our basement and garage

    7th May 17th May 2

    * I have new shoes - hurrah for ebay!

    brown wedges

    It's nearly Friday :>>

  • The only thing I'm going to do today...

    ... is watch this linky

If you're not a LOTR fan then don't click it :))
